Why do I need monitor calibration?Consider your computer screen as an extension of your eyes. The screen itself does not alter your image, however it does alter your judgment and hence the way you might alter colours or curves in Photoshop etc. A calibrated display will be completely neutral, so eye strain will be significantly reduced due to the absence of a colour cast together with a normally lowered brightness level resulting in longer monitor life. When you get your display calibrated by us we also provide FREE advise on your lighting conditions and display position and we also throw in a few not so common Photoshop tips. |

We can accurately calibrate both CRT and LCD screens (especially the Apple Mac LCD Displays), using our X-Rite i1 Pro Spectrophotometer. Our Monitor ICC profiles can be produced for both Apple Mac and PC computers, however we cannot create profiles for Win 95 and Win NT operating systems as they don't support ICC profiles.
We are now renting the Gretag Macbeth "Eye One Display 2" so you can do your own monitor calibration. The service is particular attractive if you live some distance from Sheffield as you avoid the Travel Charge. The "Eye One Display 2" produces excellent results and comes complete with software and very clear instructions. If you are unsure whether you are up to doing your own monitor, please contact us for advise or reassurance. Telephone Support, whilst you Calibrate your monitor, is included with this service. You don't get this Pro Service when you buy your own Monitor Calibrator! Once they have got your money you are essentially up the Yangtze without a paddle!
Digital Projector Calibration We are now able to calibrate Digital Projectors, so you no longer have to make excuses to your audience, saying I am sorry the colours on the screen are wrong, they are fine on my computer. (Does that ring any bells!). This Service should be particularly attractive to Camera Clubs, Ad Agencies, Corporate Designers and Digital Photographers, or indeed anyone wanting to "Look Good on Screen". |
